We all know that Windows XP is now officially unsupported since April 8, 2014 but many can't let go and more specifically Businesses and Fans who doubted Windows since the flop that was Windows Vista.

Winows XP was released to the public on October 25, 2001 and introduced a significantly redesigned interface as well was the first version of Windows to use product activation in an effort to prevent piracy. Compared to Windows ME it had increased performance, more intuitive user interface, improved hardware support, and its expanded multimedia capabilities. Where Windows XP shined the most was its sales as it sold at 400 million copies with in the first five years and sold at least one billion copies overall by April 2014.

Not all is lost because although Windows 8 seems like replay of Windows Vista but dare I say it? A much better version of Vista... it still isn't ready for use like XP was and it's mainly due to large set of bugs that keep appearing faster than they can get rid of them. However this is where Windows 7 shines its proudest as it is the one who holds the other largest share of users.

Microsoft has reminded us how amazing Windows XP was these past months but the best thing they showed us was the truth behind that famous wallpaper. Watch the video below to see the full story.

- Microsoft praises Steam and says to expect to see Microsoft focusing more on PC

Microsoft unveiled some pretty interesting things during GDC but something we didn't see coming was a praise to Steam.

During a panel at the Game Developers Conference Phil Spencer praised to Steam on what they have done for PC gaming over the years. "They've been the backbone of PC gaming for the last decade." said Spencer. "As a Windows company, I appreciate what they've done."

Later during the panel, Spencer stated that PC gamers can expect "more focus" from Microsoft in PC gaming in the time ahead. Spencer also quickly followed his response by stating that Microsoft doesn't plan to compete against Valve, but said "it's important to invest in [PC gaming] in a real way."

With Valve now taking on consoles with it's upcoming Steam Machines, Spencer simply commented that it made sense since Valve already has an established storefront and 65 million users.

At the end he wrapped things up saying we will see "tier-1" initiatives for PC gaming from Microsoft  beginning this summer, but did not specify what those things were.

- DirectX 12 is on the way, but Windows 7 not confirmed to get it?

As GDC comes to an end, we are here to fill you in on what we saw and experienced!

Microsoft has just announced that DirectX 12, which is the latest version of the company's graphics APIs, at the 2014 Game Developers Conference. What was pretty surprising is that many existing computers, smartphones, and even the Xbox One will see boosts in performance when the new tools arrive. Usually when new versions of DirectX are released they promise users beautiful graphics for your games in exchange of letting go some big bucks to get the latest chips. However, Microsoft has said that DirectX 12 will run on their existing chips. Microsoft however declined to answer to the public whether or not DX12 will support Windows 7.

Somethings that were not cleared up were how much of a performance improvement will we be seeing on Xbox One games, Smartphones or PCs. They showed some charts showing that the APIs could halve the time a single CPU core spends on a task by offloading it to the GPU, and claims that DX12 can lead to using less power towards graphics processing on smart phones as well.

Microsoft says DX12 games will arrive around 2015, however we can expect to see some previews available later this year.
