- Renting games on PlayStation Now for free but it's in Beta

*Purchased some memberships, now working with freelance journalist to bring news even faster to you. We however cannot disclose most of our associated sources due to terms and agreements, please enjoy our articles.

It has been clearly spotted around the internet that PlayStation is currently testing Video Game rentals, it was previously noted that prices would vary but showed prices such as $5-$8. One of the issues is if this the price for the 7-Day or 30-Day rental because renting movies at RedBox is $2 a day and this can end their success is it's really affordable.

It's something Sony might be pushing out soon but they haven't yet officially announced anything via their cloud-stream gaming service PlayStation Now.

- New Xbox One update rolls out tonight with decent features

Friends Notifications
* = This means our sources for factual evidence, that's right we purchased some memberships, now working with freelance journalist to bring news even faster to you. We however cannot disclose most of our associated sources due to terms and agreements, please enjoy our articles.

Finally the monthly update rolls out tnoight, and while many of the features we see won't be "New", they are still some we need right now pretty bad. Some features we hope are more than just refinements are the ones coming for the Kinect since many of us are tired of yelling the same commands over and over at our TV.

In addition there will also be a progress bar for game save, Blu-ray support for 50Hz video content, controller and headset updates to ipmorve audio static and connectivity issues, and the option  to have your system update automatically from the Instant On state when new firmware is avilable.

According to Major Nelson, the April update includes these features:
  • Game and app saves and updates. A game save progress bar will show you the status of your game saves. You will also be able to easily tell what games and apps are being updated or have been updated recently.
  • Friends improvements. Notifications will be added to see when favorites and friends sign in to Xbox Live. This was one of the most frequently requested features, so we made it a priority to include it in this update. Also, friends who are in multiplayer will be identified in the friends list.
  • Kinect voice and motion improvements will continue to be fine-tuned for quality and reliability of Xbox One commands. For example, we've updated some of the gesture functionality to reduce false positives on non-hand objects triggering gesture commands.
  • Improved GameDVR video quality through compression algorithm improvements.
  • Blu-ray player supports 50 Hz video output for content recorded at 50 Hz. We'll also be updating the Blu-ray Player app in the coming days to round out these improvements.
  • Controller and headset adaptor firmware updates will reduce audio static and improve wireless connectivity.
  • Silent reboot after system updates and system update on demand now available. If your console is in Instant On mode, the update will happen automatically and return to standby upon completion. This means you won't need to power on your console after an update moving forward. If you want to take future updates when available without waiting for your console to do it on its own, we've added this option under system settings (below) and you'll be able to use it next update. It will only show as available when there is an update to take.

- Microsoft announces Age of Empires: World Domination on Mobile

Age of Empires: World Domination

This is our first look on what the game may offer and while I expected probably amazing graphics and that nice well polished Age of Empires vibe, I saw this. I sure hope this game isn't in beta yet, graphically speaking the game looks like a disgrace to the Age of Empires series. Yes I know many of you will say that its due to the limits in  mobile games but this is no excuse.

Microsoft, one of the biggest tech giants so why would they put Klab behind the game series? By the way KLab Games is the actual company who they are working with but for KLabs this is a big step since its something outside their comfort zone. However for the series this could be the biggest misstep.

Probably the thing that frightens us the most is that the trailer promises "an all new battle system reimagined for mobile". So hopefully it doesn't change to much because although mobile has its limitations it has never stopped companies like Gameloft from bringing ground breaking titles, so let's hope for the best that KLab doesn't drop the ball.

We'd also like to point out that the DS version of Age of Empires which came out 2008 looks way better which really says a lot.

- Microsoft talks more about upcoming Xbox One features for April update

* = This means our sources for factual evidence, that's right we purchased some memberships, now working with freelance journalist to bring news even faster to you. We however cannot disclose most of our associated sources due to terms and agreements, please enjoy our articles.

Microsoft has talked about some worthy mentions in the up coming update this April.
The one getting the most attention is the ability for the Xbox One to reboot itself after system updates, and the ability for users to manually search for and install new updates.

For those who are in the "Testing new features " program should see these updates in the next few days.

Another notable feature in the update is that it will bring back the notifications for friends who sign and start a game. The update also includes improvements to the Kinect, GameDVR, and the display of game saves.

We’re committed to delivering innovation through system updates," said Xbox spokesperson Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb, "and I can’t say enough how integral fan feedback is to this process. Some features previewed won’t always make it to launch right away because we want to help ensure the best experience for our fans before pushing a new feature."

- Xbox One's new bundle removes price disadvantage and $50

* = This means our sources for factual evidence, that's right we purchased some memberships, now working with freelance journalist to bring news even faster to you. We however cannot disclose most of our associated sources due to terms and agreements, please enjoy our articles.

*Walmart and Best Buy have started selling the Xbox One console bundled with a copy of Titanfall for $450, that makes it at par with Sony's PlayStation 4 if not cheaper due to game price increases for Next Gen Console games.

Sure the bundle next to a PlayStation 4 alone doesn't make it less but a PlayStation 4 bundled with PlayStation Plus is $450, and a PlayStation 4 bundled with Infamous: Second Son is at $460. If compared between game bundles the Xbox One is indeed $10 cheaper.

*Titanfall Bundle includes:
The Xbox One console
Kinect sensor
Wireless controller
Chat headset
HDMI cable
1-month Xbox Live Gold membership
Titanfall game download—note that it’s a download

- Amazon's Game Controller leaked, possible first look

* = This means our sources for factual evidence, that's right we purchased some memberships, now working with freelance journalist to bring news even faster to you. We however cannot disclose most of our associated sources due to terms and agreements, please enjoy our articles.  (And my smashing grammar)

Amazon has a set-top box which so far has still gone unannounced, will include some sort of gaming components. While Amazon's box won't be a fully-fledged console like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it would be closer to the Ouya since it will most likely run some version of the Android operating system.

To the general public it may look alright but to us it looks like a Chinese knock off you bought for $8 that you give your friends to use whenever they come over to play local multiplayer on your Xbox. It resembles the OnLive controller a lot as well, and one of the complaints it received a lot was how cheap the controller was.

Amazon does seem to be moving towards gaming more and more, after they bought Double Helix game studio (The creators of the Killer Instinct on Xbox One).

- Steam Family sharing now available!

Steam Family Sharing, this is a service that allows users to share their Steam Library between multiple individuals and computers. This is now available to all Steam users which was announced by Valve today.

The service can be enabled for up to five Steam accounts to share one collection of games across as many as 10 different computers. In the Family Sharing program, Steam maintains game saves in the Steam Cloud as well as tracks achievements for each account.

Valve also stated that in order for players to access the libraries individuals have to be online, similar to the always on concept Microsoft had with the Xbox One but this time it's only for accessing other peoples games in your shared collection. They also said that no matter how many users you have even if it's 2-10, no two same users can play the same game at the same time, only the account holder is the person who can access their games when ever they want at all times.

This helps set up more foundations for Steam to take on consoles alongside your living room, what do you think?

- PlayStation 4 approaches 6 million sold!

* = (UPDATE) This means our sources for factual evidence, that's right we purchased some memberships, now working with freelance journalist to bring news even faster to you. We however cannot disclose most of our associated sources due to terms and agreements, please enjoy our articles. (And my smashing grammar)

The PlayStation 4 launched in Japan on Saturday and as of recent released statistics* the PlayStation 4 has sold over 322,083 units. This now bumps up the PlayStation 4 closer towards the 6 million sales, with Xbox One following at 3.5 million sales. The PlayStation 4 also did better than the Wii U at launch (Only pulled in 308,570 at launch). However at the end no system has yet matched the Nintendo Wii (371,936; at launch) and PS2 (630,522; at launch) sales.

Within the past two weeks the PlayStation sold 5.3 million units world wide, as of now it is confirmed to have reached over 5.4 million units sold. Japan truly helped pull in some numbers.

- New Tony Hawk game underway?

[tony-hawks-project-8-20060508055315668.jpg]

After four years of no Tony Hawk games, Tony accidentally talks a bit too much on US radio.

In the past years Tony Hawk hasn't gotten a full fledged game since Activision pulled the plug due to the poor sales and reviews on the games, "Tony Hawk: Ride" and "Tony Hawk: Shred". Adding on the fact that Activision made a small arcade release of Tony Hawk HD, people were skeptic to believe a new series may have been underway.

We all are aware that Activision doesn't like leaking out information on their games, as many of us remember the whole Bungie and Activision partnership to put together Destiny. However Tony Hawk specifically stated this, "We're working on a game, we are working on a game, it's pretty cool!". After Tony stated that nothing happened until IGN managed to get a confirmation out of the publisher Activision.

"Activision can confirm that they have something in the works with Tony Hawk, more info is coming soon," was Activision's response.

It had been quite commonly known that Tony Hawk's video games series was on of the biggest franchises around from the Pro Skater series up Proving Ground. The key thing we'd like to point out is that the games stuck with the same Tony Hawk vibe and not picking any favorites but American Wasteland was probably the best one, (Yes I'm biased). Each year brought a new Tony Hawk sequel to the franchise until Tony Hawk: Ride and Tony Hawk: Shred changed the style of the game and brought poor reviews and low sales, as previously stated.

It's quite obvious that after two flops like that Activision will most definitely not take a turn down that road again, and thus brings us back to the upcoming Tony Hawk game. Many fans are interested which way they are planning to take this series, it has been commonly known that EA's Skate is one of the most popular ones out there and has set a high benchmark in what skateboarding game fans like. All we can do now is wait and see when more news on the game is released.

- TitanFall Beta comes to an end

TitanFall a game that everyone has anticipated beyond any other game coming out this year, but on Wednesday the Beta was taken down after a experimental patch was applied. Many users like myself, have experienced in depth what the game will be offering multiplayer wise. Expect a review video on that coming fairly soon.

Some key things I'd like to talk about though is about TitanFall's , problems.
- Weapons are not as well balanced as they could be
Because the game is fast paced and using a sniper needs some heavy training due to the player ability to move so freely by jumping and running down walls. A plus for the player but a dink for snipers who will have to get more fast and precise at aiming. Weapons like the shotgun or smart pistol are the smart choices in the game, the shot can get some amazing range currently and 2 shots at a distance can do the trick while the smart pistol auto-lock, then simply aim within the sight of the lock on and hold the trigger to fire loads of bullets to finish off your enemy.
- 2 vs 1 Titan usually is an obvious outcome
While the maps are pretty large, one Titan vs  two Titans doesn't give you many options and running is an inevitable fate of death so you are left with nothing but to fight til the death of your Titan. While it sucks I wouldn't mind if the feature stayed although it bugs me sometimes for how unfair it is but guess what that's life!
- Lack of customization
The weapons being limited is understandable since that it will change on the games full release but the thought that the customization on those weapons which were available being the only ones frightens me. A way to picture customization is the way Call of Duty does it, which is fairly limited but if the weapons are are different enough plus adding on the Titan customization it may be able to add a bit more flavor than games like Call of Duty and Battlefield.
- Card System
Probably one of the most unique ideas in this game, aside from the Titans of course. The way the cards work are that you can carry 3 cards per game and you can use them whenever you like but once you die that one time and you respawn you lose it. Now that's one of the issues I have with it, some of the cards are not easy to come by like at all, therefore losing without being able to use it happens and it just plain old sucks. Picture as a players point of view, you got the card that you wanted which gave you a stronger gun momentarily and then you spawn and you get shot after running a bit, well its gone... I think that the way they need to work is that they last for certain amount of time and then it expires within the match rather than one time use. Some might think that the match will flood with card filled players using strong guns always but better cards can have smaller timers because nothing sucks more than getting something and losing it before you got to use it.

But finally all issues aside, these are just blemishes on what is to be one exciting game, everything feels well thought through and put together. The Parkouring in the game works amazingly well and can be mastered simply by just playing the game and the Titans feel as they are an extension of your body by allowing players to keep similar moving patterns that they had while being outside of Titan on foot.
