- Nintendo doing more cut backs and slashing more prices, could this be the end?

Once again Nintendo is as it again saying that they have poor sales and cutting prices on their products that seem to be getting the blame for sale drops. The Wii U is getting another Sales Target slash which could possibly lead to another possible price cut on perhaps future Wii U bundles.

On Friday Nintendo came out to say that they expect a 25 billion yen ($240 million) loss which is lower than the previous expected loss of 55 billion yen. The company now expects to be selling 2.8 million units worldwide of the Wii U which is significantly less than the 9 Million they estimated they would sell.

The reason why they had anticipated the 9 million in sales was because they hoped that the Holiday Season was going to help drive sale which clearly didn't really do much.

Nintendo President Press Briefing

"During the year-end shopping season, we weren't able to life sales momentum for the Wii U," said Nintendo President Satoru Iwata in a press briefing.
Satoru Iwata then said, "The decrease in game software sales is having the biggest impact [on profit]".
"My duty, more than anything else, is to revive our business momentum," he said.

Nintendo is putting the blame on the cost for the production of the Wii U but the Nintendo 3DS was also costly and fared better in sales. The culprit is obvious the lack of titles, price point, poor use of hardware  that make the Wii U look like a accessory junk collection. The console has THREE possible controllers and the accessory Line Up is astonishing. Another issue is that Nintendo has always said that Price Point isn't the issue but it is; Mobile Gaming is affordable, fun, and lacks priority hardware. Adding on, Mobile Gaming also can now be played through TVs via Apple TV or other Mirroring Services. The key thing here being that most of it brings more functionality than just Gaming, with gaming being an alternative use of the hardware, which can't be said the same about Consoles and Handhelds.

- Microsoft says Good Bye to Xbox Live Gold paywalls

*Purchased some memberships, now working with freelance journalist to bring news even faster to you. We however cannot disclose most of our associated sources due to terms and agreements, please enjoy our articles.

As the console war races on PlayStation clearly has an advantage over Microsoft but now Microsoft is providing a console that does not come with Kinect and also will be lowering the Xbox One's price due to that reason. But that's not all Microsoft announced that they will no longer be tying in most apps to their gold membership. Previously apps like YouTube, Netflix, Hulu and even Internet Explorer used to require Xbox Live Gold to be able to use it online but now Xbox One offers these services without the requirement of Xbox live Gold

Although sure this is a nice thing that Microsoft is doing; it still doesn't immediately entail that customers are going to be rushing to buy Xbox one. Many of the issues that people are not aware of over the Xbox one is that it wasn't related to apps not being able to be used because of Xbox gold although changing this was significant. Probably the most beneficial thing they did was removing Kinect because it has clearly shown that the market doesn't want Kinect at least when it comes to raising an extra hundred dollars to the console.

Other sites like IGN say that Microsofts losing the battle especially the one with in the consoles and towards Apple, and that being more like their competitors will benefit. On the contrary what we believe is that Microsoft needs to do via console wise is that they need to provide more games for the Xbox one. As of now it does not show a reason for purchasing it; it lacks games and pretty much makes Xbox 360 or any other console look better and this also goes for the PlayStation 4. Sure great graphics are important but that's not everything, they still haven't proved why we should invest $400 on a console that has no games.

- Double Fine's latest game could be the next big hit

Games seem like a dime a dozen lately since everyone is fighting to become the next big hit and Double Fine has made more games than many small game developer companies but its latest crowd funded game might be their next most solid idea ever.
LAST LIFE is a sci-fi noir adventure game for PC, Mac and Linux about a transhumanist colony on Mars. When a murdered detective is 3D printed back into existence, he reopens his last case to uncover what he missed--a hunt that reveals AI corruption, corporate espionage, and the conspiracy that may have led to Earth's doom.

Sam Farmer says Last Life was inspired by adventure games Kentucky Route Zero and Telltale's The Walking Dead series. Last Life has drawn the praise of adventure game veteran Tim Schafer, who gamers know as one of the main designers behind the Monkey Island and Psychonauts franchises, as well as the action game Brutal Legend. On Last Life's Kickstarter page, Schafer says, "As soon as we saw it, we loved it. And we knew we wanted to get involved and help out in any way that we could."

- Nintendo forgetting their roots of the "Super Mario Bros." series?

* = This means our sources for factual evidence, that's right we purchased some memberships, now working with freelance journalist to bring news even faster to you. We however cannot disclose most of our associated sources due to terms and agreements, please enjoy our articles.

Update: Nintendo Clarified their mistake 26 mins after and the re-edited version states it was the "Warp Whistle". However Warp Whistle and Zone are not alike which is still a slip up especially for the core games. Who ever posted it mustn't be doing just that, posting it.

Nintendo has blundered in sales, created flops in their past, and even pickpocketed monetized profits from YouTube channels but now they seem to be forgetting their roots. On Twitter today Nintendo of America tried to post a nostalgic fact about Super Mario Bros. and all seemed fine until you read it. Nintendo stated that Warp Zone was first introduced in Super Mario Bros. 3 when the most notable Warp Zone is the one in World 1-2 at the end. Pretty much everyone from the 90s has made that a fact by now in every kids-grandparents brain. However Nintendo is slipping up from all directions lately, someone might be out of a job for this, as this is a slip up to their most profiting franchise.
