Nintendo Wii U GameCube controller will create more problems than solutions for Nintendo

Nintendo is making a GameCube like controller for the Wii U. This is one of Nintendo's most terrible idea as of late, the Nintendo Wii U will now have the Gamepad, the Wiimote, the pro controller and now this new controller that will reflect a lot to the design of the GameCube Controller. Could this be a step forward or bigger step back since maybe the new controllers are not really appealing to the audience like it was back at launch.

The main reason why this is a bad idea is because the Wii U is now becoming an accessory hub. This means that they're trying to encourage customers to purchase different accessories for different games but even so that's not the issue. The issue is towards Nintendo not having a main audience so these accessories will create clutter and more financial problems for the company.

Another issue I'm having with Nintendo this time, is that all this money can be focused towards developing more games or working with third-party developers to bring more games to the Wii U. Speaking of which, how do you expect for developers to react to this? Now they have to create code for this controller to provide functionality to the games they made. This will also revive an old issue Nintendo had in the past with the Wii U not being able to play GameCube titles on to gamepad. Except this time it can affect all the current games on the Wii U but maybe not affect previous GameCube titles which was probably their main intention.

Nonetheless the focus of Nintendo clearly hasn't changed, they are putting focus on other things aside from the main issue which is games. We keep hearing that they're working on titles but we don't only care about their main franchise games which is what they still don't understand. As a gamer personally I want to see more third-party support so that I know I have variety of games for the Wii U to play.

Mojang has just announced details on the extremely long awaited Minecraft versions of PS4, XBox One, and PS Vita. The post also talked about also about current folks who own the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions.

Summary

If you own a previous console version you can upgrade for $5.00 or essentially own both versions if you buy the original and pay $5.00 more for the Next-Gen version. If you you bought the PlayStation 3 version you'll be getting the best deal since $5.00 more gets you the PlayStation 4 version and at the time of the PlayStation 4 version release the Vita release will follow. So if you bought the PlayStation 3 version the PlayStation Vita version is Free!

Full Details below!
*from original post

  • Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will be released on Xbox Live Marketplace in August. It brings significantly bigger worlds and a greater draw distance than Xbox 360 Edition.
  • It will include all the features from the most recent Xbox 360 title update.
  • Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will cost $19.99.
  • If you’ve bought Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition from Xbox Live Marketplace, or played online with the disc version, you will be able to upgrade to Xbox One Edition for $4.99.
  • You will be able to upgrade for a minimum of a year after the release date.
  • Players with Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition saves will be able to import their worlds to Xbox One. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to transfer saves from Xbox One to Xbox 360. We can make worlds bigger without too much stress, but shrinking them causes all kinds of problems.
  • Cross platform play will not be possible between Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
  • Many, but not all, of the DLC skins and texture packs you’ve purchased for Xbox 360 Edition will be available for use in Xbox One Edition. We’d like to say all your DLC would transfer, but some of the items are trapped in licensing deals that are too boring to get into here. We’ll have more on this soon.

  • Minecraft: Playstation 3 + Vita Edition will be available on the PSN in August.
  • It will include all the features from the most recent Playstation 3 version, including online play on Vita.
  • This means everyone who has bought Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition from PSN will get it on Vita for free. Those fluent in Sony-speak might refer to the deal as “Cross-buy.”
  • We are working closely with Sony Computer Entertainment to look into ways to enable upgrade from the Blu-ray disc version of Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition to Minecraft: Playstation 3 and Vita. We’ll have more info on this closer to release.
  • Minecraft: Playstation 3 + Vita Edition will cost $19.99.
  • It doesn’t matter if you buy for PS3 or Vita first, you own the game for both platforms.
  • Saves are transferrable between the Playstation 3 and Vita versions of Minecraft. You will be able to craft at home on your Playstation 3, then continue on the bus/toilet with your Playstation Vita.
  • All of the DLC you’ve purchased for Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition will work on Playstation 3 + Vita Edition.

  • Minecraft: Playstation 4 Edition will be released on the PSN in August. It brings significantly bigger worlds and a greater draw distance than Playstation 3 + Vita Edition.
  • It will include all the features from the most recent Playstation 3 version.
  • Minecraft: Playstation 4 Edition will cost $19.99.
  • If you’ve bought Playstation 3 Edition from the Playstation Network you will be able to upgrade for $4.99.
  • You will be able to upgrade for a minimum of a year after the release date.
  • We are working closely with Sony Computer Entertainment to look into ways to enable upgrade from the Blu-ray disc version of Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition to Minecraft: Playstation 4 Edition. We’ll have more info on this closer to release.
  • Players with Playstation 3 Edition or Playstation 3 + Vita Edition saves will be able to import their worlds to Playstation 4. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to transfer your saves from Playstation 4 to Playstation 3/Vita. There are technical reasons for this; we can make worlds bigger without too much stress, but shrinking them causes all kinds of problems.
  • Cross-platform play will not be possible between Playstation 3 + Vita Edition and Playstation 4 Edition.
  • Many, but not all, of the DLC skins and texture packs you’ve purchased for Playstation 3 Edition will be available for use in Playstation 4 Edition. We’d like to say all your DLC would transfer but some of the items are trapped in licensing deals that are too boring to get into here. We’ll have more on this soon.

- Nintendo doing more cut backs and slashing more prices, could this be the end?

*Purchased some memberships, now working with freelance journalist to bring news even faster to you. We however cannot disclose most of our associated sources due to terms and agreements, please enjoy our articles.

Once again Nintendo is as it again saying that they have poor sales and cutting prices on their products that seem to be getting the blame for sale drops. The Wii U is getting another Sales Target slash which could possibly lead to another possible price cut on perhaps future Wii U bundles.

On Friday Nintendo came out to say that they expect a 25 billion yen ($240 million) loss which is lower than the previous expected loss of 55 billion yen. The company now expects to be selling 2.8 million units worldwide of the Wii U which is significantly less than the 9 Million they estimated they would sell.

The reason why they had anticipated the 9 million in sales was because they hoped that the Holiday Season was going to help drive sale which clearly didn't really do much.

Nintendo President Press Briefing

"During the year-end shopping season, we weren't able to life sales momentum for the Wii U," said Nintendo President Satoru Iwata in a press briefing.
Satoru Iwata then said, "The decrease in game software sales is having the biggest impact [on profit]".
"My duty, more than anything else, is to revive our business momentum," he said.

Nintendo is putting the blame on the cost for the production of the Wii U but the Nintendo 3DS was also costly and fared better in sales. The culprit is obvious the lack of titles, price point, poor use of hardware  that make the Wii U look like a accessory junk collection. The console has THREE possible controllers and the accessory Line Up is astonishing. Another issue is that Nintendo has always said that Price Point isn't the issue but it is; Mobile Gaming is affordable, fun, and lacks priority hardware. Adding on, Mobile Gaming also can now be played through TVs via Apple TV or other Mirroring Services. The key thing here being that most of it brings more functionality than just Gaming, with gaming being an alternative use of the hardware, which can't be said the same about Consoles and Handhelds.

- Deep Look into Nintendo's Mario Kart 8, could this be Nintendo's next big hit?

*Purchased some memberships, now working with freelance journalist to bring news even faster to you. We however cannot disclose most of our associated sources due to terms and agreements, please enjoy our articles.

As Mario kart 8's tracks go live we learn more about what Nintendo is actually trying to do now.

Nintendo has recently been trying to promote their latest game by discussing and showing the tracks from Mario kart 8. Since they're not planning to do any big announcements during E3 this year they're trying to reach their audience in a different way. One of these ways is that they're promoting both Mario kart 8 as previously stated and they're trying to promote Super Smash Brothers for Wii U and 3DS. Along with showing the roster of characters that will be included in the new Super Smash Bros, they're also showing the new Mario Kart 8 tracks and songs that will accompany them. They not only claimed but showed and proved that most of the songs (if not all) were recorded live.

In most cases Games simply show what the game is about but Nintendo's trying to show every angle of one of their top games in order to encourage customers to buy it. This is where Nintendo can probably shine the best because as of late they haven't been bring in good sales, so perhaps now they can prove to their shareholders that even their top games can still bring in some good revenue.

Now let's talk about Mario Kart 8, Mario kart 8 so far looks extremely well polished at any angle and the way the stages are designed and how they look clearly show that this is the next iteration of the Mario kart series. During Nintendo Direct they showed many of the tracks and many of them have very high textures and also have many 3-D objects running all at the same time aside from just the racers. Mario kart 8 is definitely showing the power that Wii U has over the original Nintendo Wii. They also have to sort of make up for it because the Nintendo Wii U isn't backwards compatible with the GameCube anymore.

Nonetheless Nintendo can hopefully still prove that their games can be AAA quality to date like they were in the past. It also seems that whether it's in the music, in the design, or in Game Concepts; Nintendo can still put well polished games out there standing aside next to games like Halo and Call of Duty which don't bring family-friendly entertainment.

- Nintendo getting desperate for sales?

Overclockers Xbox One price now £299, as Nintendo announce Mario Kart 8 bundle
*Purchased some memberships, now working with freelance journalist to bring news even faster to you. We however cannot disclose most of our associated sources due to terms and agreements, please enjoy our articles.

As many of us are aware Nintendo has been going through some pretty tough times, every time their sales go slightly up they fall even more lower in the coming weeks.

As of late, to counter their falling stocks they have two Mark Kart Bundles coming out fairly soon as well as for the first time ever "DLC passes". The DLC passes will be for the upcoming Mario Golf game for the 3DS because we all know how fun Golf is.

The limited edition version of the game - for those that already have a Wii U (yes, both of you)

(Game Bundle [without console])

Many of these strategies for the company are to hopefully attract users with affordability and extras like T-shirts but the make-over that Nintendo needs is beyond that at this point. Many consoles have loads of games with DLC, so let's hope perhaps Mario Kart has DLC as well to see further support on the game which could also benefit Nintendo.

- Renting games on PlayStation Now for free but it's in Beta

*Purchased some memberships, now working with freelance journalist to bring news even faster to you. We however cannot disclose most of our associated sources due to terms and agreements, please enjoy our articles.

It has been clearly spotted around the internet that PlayStation is currently testing Video Game rentals, it was previously noted that prices would vary but showed prices such as $5-$8. One of the issues is if this the price for the 7-Day or 30-Day rental because renting movies at RedBox is $2 a day and this can end their success is it's really affordable.

It's something Sony might be pushing out soon but they haven't yet officially announced anything via their cloud-stream gaming service PlayStation Now.
