- Killer Instinct not affected by sale of its developer says Microsoft

Yesterday, the online retailer Amazon surprised everyone with the announcement that it had purchased Killer Instinct developer Double Helix. This led many to question what that would mean for the free-to-play Xbox One game and its ongoing support. Nothing to worry about fans, according to the big M (Microsoft), Microsoft Studio executive Phil Spencer assured fans by stating that the company is prepared to handle the transition.

Spencer went on to say that the Killer Instinct franchise -owned by Microsoft- will continue, because the series is something that he believes in.

The reasoning behind Amazon's purchase of Double Helix remain a mystery but one thing is for sure and that's that Amazon acquired a non-indie developer and who knows what they plan to do with them.
