The PlayStation 4 launched in Japan on Saturday and as of recent released statistics* the PlayStation 4 has sold over 322,083 units. This now bumps up the PlayStation 4 closer towards the 6 million sales, with Xbox One following at 3.5 million sales. The PlayStation 4 also did better than the Wii U at launch (Only pulled in 308,570 at launch). However at the end no system has yet matched the Nintendo Wii (371,936; at launch) and PS2 (630,522; at launch) sales.

Within the past two weeks the PlayStation sold 5.3 million units world wide, as of now it is confirmed to have reached over 5.4 million units sold. Japan truly helped pull in some numbers.
