- Skullgirls is coming back, as Skullgirls Encore

On February 11 Lab Zero Games will relaunch their 2D fighter gamer Skullgirls as Skullgirls Encore on the PlayStation Network in North America, this is according to the games launch trailer.

The developer announced late last year Skullgirls would temporarily be removed from both the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Games Store due to a change in publisher. The game being presented now as Skullgirls Encore and is "a new distinct game" from its original release, according to Lab Zero Games.

For PlayStation users who already purchased the game for the PlayStation 3, you will be able to download Skullgirls Encore for free when it launches. PlayStation users that purchased the game should receive a voucher for a free copy of the game via PSN XMB message. Also, following the launch is a new fighter named Squigly, a crowd funded character who will be available as downloadable content.

For Xbox 360 users who already purchased the game Skullgirls will instead receive a patch. This means existing DLC will also work and the players statistics will remain in tact.
